Fellowship Programme What To Expect

What you can expect from an ICENI Centre International Fellowship:

  • An annual appraisal with educational and clinical supervisors with help developing surgical skills, curriculum vitae building, abstracts, presentations and papers for journal submission.
  • Regular & free access to the ICENI Centre Skills Lab and Simulation Suite with state-of-the-art augmented and virtual reality equipment in robotic surgery, laparoscopy, hysteroscopy, endovascular, ophthalmology and endoscopy.
  • A dedicated ICENI Centre International Fellowship Officer to provide personal support throughout your Fellowship, looking after your welfare both in and outside of work. Regular social events are arranged, creating a unique ICENI Centre International Fellowship community.
  • An opportunity to represent The ICENI Centre and deliver presentations locally and internationally.
  • An ICENI Centre e-log book to record your clinical portfolio signed off by your Educational/Clinical Supervisor.
  • An ICENI Centre International Fellowship certificate.

Fellowship Programme Entry Requirements

  • The British Council IELTS English Language Test (IELTS for UKVI Academic) or OET (Occupational English Test) Medicine version
    • IELTS – Score of at least 7.0 in each testing area and an overall score of 7.5
    • OET – At least a grade ‘B’ in each testing area (speaking, listening, reading and writing)
  • Primary Medical Qualification Certificate (PMQ)
    • A copy of your decorative PMQ certificate given to you when you first qualified. It must confirm the exact date that you met all of the requirements for the award of your degree (the date that you passed your final examination/assessment). It must meet the GMC’s criteria for acceptable overseas qualifications
  • Certificate of Good Standing (CGS)
    • A CGS from the medical regulatory authority in any countries where you’ve held registration during the last five years. Find out which medical authorities you need to contact. Certificates are only valid for three months and they must be in date when we’re ready to approve your registration.
  • Evidence of clinical experience

    Candidates will need to demonstrate they’ve completed at least three years of full-time equivalent postgraduate training, including:

    • One year’s internship (which can be multi-specialty or based solely in one specialty),
    • Minimum of three years in their specialty.

    Candidate must have been in full time clinical work for the year directly prior to their Fellowship start date.

  • Translations

    You must submit a complete and accurate translation of every document you provide that is not in English:

    • A copy of the original document, along with a copy of the English translation.
    • The translation must have the name and contact details of the translator or translation service either on it, or attached to it.
